Meet the Instructor
Lace Finch —artist, muralist, and educator
Hi, I’m Lace! I’ve been painting murals for over 10 years, trained in trompe l'oeil under internationally recognized muralists, and have been teaching since long before I ever considered myself an artist. This is the class I wish I would have had access to in my earlier years of painting. Instead, I spent my first 5 years painting every single day and devouring every bit of free information I could find. By my estimations, this class should save you about 5 years.

In this 40+ hour course I’ll walk you through the steps to create your own Unblockable View ™. During the course we’ll discuss techniques and fundamentals as they relate to trompe l’oeil painting. All materials, and a boxed lunch with light snacks will be provided though, it may be helpful to bring a sketchbook or notebook so you can take notes.
- Saturdays, Sept. 12-Oct 24th, 10am-4pm - all materials, lunch, snacks, and coffee/tea/water will be provided. Let us know if you have any allergies or special dietary needs.

THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER COURSE!
This course is for people who already do some painting on their own and want to drastically improve their skills.
No refunds will be given. HOWEVER, if you bow out at the end of day one I will count your class fee as your future mural deposit, good for one year.

With one simple exercise we’ll talk about the basic building blocks of a good Trompe L’oeil painting, and tips, tricks, and techniques to use to be able to create more realistic artwork at home.
We’ll talk about lines, blending, color, perspective, composition, light, shadow, and form; all of the fundamentals you need in order to create paintings like my Unblockable View and seriously uplevel your own painting skills in whatever style you usually work in.
This 3 hour class is not necessarily for beginners but is a good intro into various terms and techniques that will help turn any painter into a better one.

I realize not everyone can do a premium mural or DIY this type of project. Would you prefer a wall-decal instead?
