What to expect when you commission an Unblockable View Mural:
At checkout you’ll fill out a form asking for all the details of your wall and your desired mural. Add all the details you can think of, the more detailed and specific you are, the better. At the bottom of the form you’ll find my basic contract and be asked to sign before submitting. If you’re not ready for that, please use the free inquiry option at the bottom of the page.
Within 24 hours you after checkout, you should receive an email from me asking for inspiration images you have. If you have more than 3 or 4 you’ll need send them in batches, a zipped folder, or share a link to your cloud folder. Please try to keep everything in the same email reply chain so I don’t miss any images or details.
After I receive your images we’ll set up a time that week for a phone call, your Discovery Call, so we can go over everything together.
Discovery Call - We’ll go over all the details and images you sent, and work out a final plan for your design. I like to spend a few minutes getting to know you and answering any questions you might have then spend the rest of the call making sure I understand your vision from top to bottom. At the end of the call I’ll let you know a final price for your mural. My Trompe L’oeil Murals are approximately $5000 per 5ftx10ft section or $100/sq.ft. and includes travel and installation within Berrien County, Michigan. Installations outside of Berrien County, Michigan will incur travel and installation expenses that will be billed separately from the mural and must be paid before painting is completed. Mural fees must be paid in-full before painting begins.
Design mock-up with 2 revisions - After our Discovery call I’ll get to work designing your mural. I want you to be thrilled with your design so 2 revisions are included in the design stage. Extra design revisions will be billed at $50/hour.
Painting is done in my studio on industry standard mural cloth. - Once your happy with your design and your balance is paid I’ll begin painting.
Painting times will vary but I should be able to give you a guestimate when I begin your painting.
Halfway point check-in and revision opportunity - Halfway through painting I’ll check-in to see how you like it. If your not over-joyed at what you’re seeing, this is the time to revise. One full revision is included at this point. We want to make sure we’re on the right track and you’re going to be happy with the outcome. If we started with good designs, you’ll probably love most everything at this point but, if you don’t or aren’t sure, this is the time to say it and fix it.
Final check-in and final revision opportunity. - At this point I’m considering the painting as finished. The only revisions, if any, should be very minor and take no more than an hour to fix. Anything more than that will be billed at $300/hour and will be due before painting continues.
Installation Date will be scheduled once painting is completed and your happy with the results. Installation dates are typically set for 2-3 weeks out.
A final varnish will be applied and cured in my studio, before your installation, to insure your mural is durable, cleanable, and lasts a very long time.
Installation within Berrien County Michigan is included in the fee. (Installation outside of Berrien County will incur travel and installation fees.)
