Ever wanna try some new materials without having to invest a bunch of money for something you don’t even know if you’ll like?
Our Materials Experiments Workshops would be perfect for you!
Materials Experiments Workshops are play based experiential workshops where we pull out a bunch of materials and play with them to see what we like and don’t like.
You’ll get hands on experience with various brands and grades of creative materials that you might not try otherwise.
Individual workshop sessions may differ, see VARIANTS for dates, times and topics. Some sessions feature different brands/grades of one material i.e. acrylic paint or pastels, etc, and other sessions give you a chance to play with all the materials.
We love this series because it helps us to find out how various mediums work and if springing for “the good stuff” makes a difference. Is craft paint fine? What’s the difference between artist grade and professional grade? Does name brand matter? Wanna see if your favorite brand really is better than the rest? What are those codes on the back of that tube? Aren’t oil pastels just fancy crayons? What’s the difference between alcohol markers, paint markers, and ink markers? aren’t all colored pencils really kinda the same? Learn the answers to these questions and more though fun and experience rather than the advertising.
Come play for a couple hours and see what medium you’d like to get into next.
